This year’s Reading Festival is set to be absolutely bonkers. The world’s oldest music festival is back at it again to shake up England in August. The festival will be headlined by The 1975, Foo Fighters, Post Malone, and Twenty One Pilots.
Also headlining are Royal Blood, Blossoms, A Day to Remember, TBC, Mura Masa, and Bastille. The headliners alone could hold a festival all on their own, but there are countless other acts to get excited about. But first, let’s break down the top acts of the festival, who will perform on August 23 – 25, 2019 on Richfield Avenue.
Fresh off 2018’s A Brief Inquiry Into Online Relationships, the biggest band in the world is naturally rocking their world tour with no signs of slowing down. A new record, Notes on A Conditional Form, is also due soon.
Front man Matty Healy describes the album as a nighttime record with a sound like nothing the band has ever done before. Let’s hope that The 1975 bring their signature charm in August.
This band needs no introduction. The Foo Fighters are still going strong after 25 years in the industry. After 2017’s Concrete and Gold, there’s been talk of a new album in the pipeline from this legendary group.
While nothing’s set yet, it’s safe to say we’re all excited for what’s in store for the Foo Fighters. And we’re all just as ecstatic for the band to shake down Richfield Avenue.
Post Malone had an incredible 2018. The spitfire artist released his sophomore album last year, Beerbongs and Bentleys, and it was nominated for a Grammy for Album of the Year. The album was also named one of the 50 Best Albums of 2018 by Billboard, Complex, and Uproxx.
To top everything off, Malone’s collaboration with Swae Lee, “Sunflower,” was also nominated for an Oscar for Best Original Song. It was for the movie Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which went on to win an Academy Award for Best Animated Film. Whew, talk about a busy 2018. We hope Post Malone brings the same energy at Reading.
Twenty One Pilots
Certified fan-favorite Twenty One Pilots is a musical duo from Ohio. With a sound that’s difficult to describe but easy to listen to, the band has captivated fans around the world. With 5 releases and counting, Twenty One Pilots is poised to bring the house down at Reading Festival, and they’ll be bringing their followers, dubbed the Skeleton Clique, with them.
The 2019 Reading Festival already looks like it’s going to be a massive success. The other acts performing at the festival include The Wombats, You Me at Six, Lil Uzi Vert, Pale Waves, Joji, Billie Eilish, CHVRCHES, Bowling For Soup, No Rome, and The Japanese House. And many, many, more.
This festival is stacked, to say the least. It will be happening on August 23 – 25, 2019 on Richfield Avenue. Tickets are available now.
